Okotoks MarketSquare

Blog by Marianna Kindrachuk & Don Blocka | February 8th, 2013

Okotoks MarketSquare was born out of a desire to connect local artisans, businesses, and non profit groups with the local community, and both its event and its online platform are established to serve this purpose.
MarketSquare's upcoming Spring Market Series will be at Foothills Centennial Centre on the first Saturdays of March, April and May. Their summer market series will be held outdoors in Olde Towne Okotoks. If you're interested in registering as a vendor, a non profit group or as a business looking to advertise through one of their events, then please contact them at OkotoksMarketSquare@gmail.com or visit their website www.themarketsquare.ca

These events offer live music, fabulous food, great entertainment for kids, and a platform for local non profit groups so that they too can raise exposure for their particular initiatives.

MarketSquare was established in the spring of 2011, when its two founders hosted their first event. Adriana Bratu was at the time a home based business owner importing silver jewellery and looking to sell her imports in Okotoks. Andrea Wilton-Clark was part of a local non profit organization, looking for a way to engage the community in her fundraising efforts. Over time over five hundred artisans and businesses contacted these two ladies, wanting to participate.
